洛馬修改F-35彈艙

F-35是目前最受歡迎的第五代戰機，不過它有一個明顯的缺點，就是載彈量偏少，內載彈艙的容量只能攜帶4枚AIM-120先進中程空對空飛彈。
洛克希德馬丁公司(Lockheed Martin)設計了一種新式武器架，稱為Sidekick，可使F-35A和F-35C多帶上兩枚飛彈，從原先的4枚加到6枚，這等於增加了50%的攜彈量。

洛馬表示，F-35的第4代修改block 4可能就能應用Sidekick。
另外自動地面防撞系統（AGCAS）將提前安裝在F-35身上，這套系統可以在飛行員昏迷時接管戰機，避免墜落。
目前實驗的過程中，已挽救了八名飛行員的生命。
