PIA aircraft crashes in residential area near Karachi airport

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft A320 Airbus on Friday crashed in Model Colony near Jinnah international airport Karachi.

PIA spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez confirmed the crash and added that PK 8303 was carrying 90 passengers and 8 crew members from Lahore to Karachi.

Have lost engine: What Pakistan plane pilot told ATC moments before crash

The pilot of the Pakistan International Airlines flight that crashed today told Air Traffic Control that he was facing problems with his plane's engines moments before making a mayday distress call.
Around 100 people were onboard the Lahore-Karachi flight which crashed in a residential area shortly before landing.

當局表示指，涉事客機完全適合飛行，亦無機件故障；航空管制員曾3度警告着陸高度太低，但機師沒有理會，聲稱自己可以處理。
而航空管制員亦沒有提醒機師，航機第一次嘗試着陸時令引擎損毀，最終在第二次嘗試降落時，引擎先着地墜毀。
當局認為2名機師經驗非常足夠，而且健康良好，但卻因過度自信和不夠集中肇禍。
