（中央社華盛頓1日綜合外電報導）美國國防部今天表示，空軍一架F-16戰機在南卡羅來納州進行訓練任務期間墜毀，駕駛員身亡。這已是美國空軍不滿2個月內第4起嚴重事故。

法新社報導，蕭空軍基地（Shaw Air Force Base）發布聲明表示，戰機昨天下午11時30分（格林威治時間1日3時30分）左右落在這處基地。

聲明並提到駕駛員在戰機墜毀當下，正在進行訓練任務。但聲明未提供墜機原因。
