The restored 76-year-old plane, which flew in World War II, visited 24 countries on its epic journey westwards around the world, clocking up more than 23,300 miles (37,500 km).

Of around 20,000 Spitfires built, fewer than 250 survive, with only 50 or so of those still airworthy.
They rarely fly and are mostly based in Britain.

太平洋戦争が開戦した12月8日を前に、戦時中の映像や資料を集めている大分県宇佐市の市民団体「豊の国宇佐市塾」が5日、愛知県豊田市の海軍飛行場を空襲中に日本軍によって撃墜された米軍機などを収めた映像を報道陣に公開した。
同団体によると、米軍機の墜落の瞬間を捉えた映像は珍しいという。
