He starred in such films as Tremors, The Right Stuff, Uncommon Valor, and Miami Blues as well as the title character in Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins.
He served in the US Air Force for 3 years.

Funeral services were held Friday morning for Second World War fighter ace James "Stocky" Edwards in Courtenay, B.C.

Two Canadian military CF-18 jets and a Cormorant helicopter conducted a flyover above the church as Edwards' casket was being moved Friday.
