斯托里失踪大约一个月后，美军在他最后战斗的地方找到了一具遗体。
这具遗体与其他同样身份不明的军人遗体一起被埋葬在夏威夷太平洋国家纪念公墓(National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific)。

美国国防部战俘及失踪军人统计署(Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency)称，有7500多名在朝鲜战争中服役的美国人仍然下落不明或遗体仍未鉴定。
这相当于在这场战争中丧生的近37000名美国军人的大约20%。
