美國空軍一架KC-46A空中加油機，7月8日在維吉尼亞外海為F-22執行空中加油任務時，發生加油桿意外脫落的重大事件。

2024年一架KC-46也曾在為F-15E加油時發生類似事故。

Public records and flight tracking data show that the aircraft involved in the incident is a six-year-old KC-46, serial number 17-46033, flying under the callsign FELL 81.

An image provided to Air & Space Forces Magazine by a local aircraft photographer, X user enc_spotter, shows the tanker at Seymour Johnson with part of its boom missing.
