UK arms sales to Saudi Arabia ruled lawful

The judges said "closed material", which had not been made public for national security reasons, "provides valuable additional support for the conclusion that the decisions taken by the secretary of state not to suspend or cancel arms sales to Saudi Arabia were rational".

Equipment sold to Saudi Arabia includes Typhoon and Tornado fighter jets, as well as precision-guided bombs.

英警察にドローン部隊発足　
空からの捜索監視に活用

英南西部のデボンとコーンウォールの警察に、ドローンを使った捜索監視部隊が正式に発足した。

両警察では、2015年11月からドローンの操作技術修得訓練を行っており、このほど正式に実働部隊として発足した。

現在5人の隊員と6機のドローンが両部隊に所属しており、1年以内にイギリス民間航空局公認の隊員40人の養成を目指す。

UK's only flying Lancaster back in the air after 'major' overhaul

As well as a complete overhaul, the aircraft was given new nose art featuring a kangaroo and bagpipes.

It is part of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF), based at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire, is currently at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford.

The Lancaster is due to return to its base for the BBMF's 60th anniversary celebrations next week.

Orkney service marks HMS Vanguard sinking centenary

A service to mark the centenary of one of the biggest tragedies in the history of the Royal Navy has taken place in Orkney.

More than 800 people died when HMS Vanguard sank in Scapa Flow.
A series of internal explosions ripped through the battleship at about 23:20 on 9 July 1917.
